MEC-Biogas has been acquired by Måbjerg Biogas Leverandørforening and Skovgaard Energy

Maabjerg Energy Center Holding (MEC-Biogas), a leading Danish large-scale biogas plant owned by Struer Energi and Vestforsyning, has been sold to Måbjerg Biogas Leverandørforening and Skovgaard Energy.

Headquartered in Holstebro, MEC-Biogas is a Danish large-scale industrial biogas plant. MEC-Biogas represents one of Denmark’s pioneering industrial biogas facilities, effectively transforming approximately 500,000 tons of manure annually into raw biogas for the generation of power and heat.

Måbjerg Biogas Leverandørforening is a supplier association consisting of 135 farmers, and Skovgaard Energy is a renewable energy company that develops solar power, power-to-X, biogas and more.

Struer Energi and Vestforsyning are municipality-owned utility companies.
