Ausumgaard Biogen has received investment from Eurowind Energy
Ausumgaard Biogen has received investment from Eurowind Energy, supporting the further development of its renewable energy platform and circular business model. The investment represents a key milestone in Eurowind Energy’s biogas strategy.
Ausumgaard Biogen was founded in 2012 by Ausumgaard, a modern agricultural business with roots dating back to 1475. The company operates three wind turbines, a grass protein production line and a biogas plant that commenced operations in 2017. The biogas plant plays a central role in Ausumgaard Biogen’s circular business model, with a significant share of the biomass sourced internally, ensuring a high degree of self-sufficiency. Situated in a prime location between Struer and Holstebro, the company benefits from access to substantial biomass volumes from its own operations as well as nearby agricultural producers. Since its inception, Ausumgaard Biogen has undergone significant development. Today, the biogas plant produces approximately 15 million Nm³ of biomethane annually, while the wind turbines have a combined capacity of 9 MW. Together, these operations supply renewable electricity and district heating equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 17,500 households.
Eurowind Energy is a Danish renewable energy company specializing in the construction, development and operation of renewable energy parks. Its activities span wind, solar, biogas and storage solutions, including the development of larger energy centers comprising hydrogen production.
