Guillaume Poulin


Guillaume is a partner at Oaklins E. Canada and is based in Toronto. He has more than 15 years of experience in advising management teams, boards and shareholders on M&A transactions, financing, performance assessment, governance and linking management compensation to value creation. He has done work for a variety of clients, including large public issuers, family-owned companies, startups, private equity firms and pension funds in Canada, the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His key areas of expertise are in agriculture, financial institutions, healthcare, TMT and manufacturing. Some of the clients he has advised include Levinoff-Colbex, a meat processing plant; Greenfield Global, a producer of ethanol-based biofuels; Hargreaves Lansdown, an investment services firm; Freedom Acquisition Holdings, a SPAC that merged with GLG Partners, a hedge fund; Prometic Life Science, a biotech company; Titan Medical, a medical device company; Postmedia Network, a publisher of daily newspapers in Canada; Yellow Pages Limited, a digital media and marketing solutions company; FieldTurf, a synthetic turf manufacturer; and Bariatrix, a food product manufacturer.

Guillaume has had several senior roles prior to joining Oaklins E. Canada, including more recently as a principal with Hugessen Consulting in Toronto. Before joining Hugessen, Guillaume was an investment banker at Citigroup in the UK and a corporate lawyer in Montreal. He also co-founded and managed Gestion Agriterra, a farmland investment corporation specialized in the acquisition, management and rental of farmland throughout Canada. Guillaume has an LLB from Sherbrooke University and completed an MBA at INSEAD in Singapore and France.
