Valmiermuižas Alus has been acquired by Cēsu Alus

Valmiermuižas Alus has been acquired by Cēsu Alus AS through the purchase of 100% of its shares. The transaction enabled the founder’s exit and strengthened the company’s platform for continued growth within a consolidating Baltic beverage market.

Valmiermuižas Alus is the largest local craft brewery in Latvia and one of the country’s most well-known and popular beer brands. The company offers a diverse portfolio of beers catering to a wide range of tastes, with a strong focus on using natural ingredients and maintaining strict quality standards. In addition to its core beer offerings, Valmiermuižas Alus has expanded into non-alcoholic beverages and specialty brews, appealing to a broad customer base. The brewery also operates a hospitality business, including a visitor center and restaurant, which further enhances brand visibility and customer engagement. Prior to the transaction, Valmiermuižas Ieguldījumu Fonds owned 100% of the shares in Valmiermuižas Alus.

Cēsu Alus is one of Latvia’s leading beverage producers, best known for brewing beer and producing a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Its main business areas include beer brewing, soft drinks and bottled water production, as well as other ready-to-drink beverages distributed across Latvia and export markets. The company is owned by the Finnish beverage group Olvi.

Oaklins’ team in Latvia acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the sellers of Valmiermuižas Alus in this major milestone transaction, the sale of 100% of the company’s shares to Cēsu Alus. The team ran a full sell-side process, identifying the most suitable strategic buyer and leading negotiations to secure optimal terms for the shareholders. The transaction enables the founder’s exit and provides Valmiermuižas Alus with a strong industrial partner to support its continued growth and brand development.
