BSM has sold a controlling stake to a group of private investors

The private shareholders of Bamstroymekhanizatsia (BSM) have sold a controlling stake in the company to a group of strategic private investors. Financial details have not been disclosded.

Founded in 1974, Bamstroimekhanizatsiya (BSM) is a construction company specializing in mechanized earthworks. Early in its history, most of the company’s resources were dedicated to the construction of the central section of the Baikal-Amur Railway (BAM) and branch lines BAM-Tynda and Tynda-Berkakit. In recent years, the main focus of the company has been the construction of the Amur Federal Highway from Chita to Khabarovsk. The company has built more than 2,000 kilometers of motor roads and more than 2,500 kilometers of railway beds. Bamstroimekhanizatsiya is using the latest earthmoving equipment from leading manufacturers, including Kobelco excavators, Komatsu heavy bulldozers, Volvo, Astra, and МоАZ dump trucks, and other technology. Overall, the fleet of BSM has more than 1,000 units of construction equipment. In its annual report for 2013, Bamstroimekhanizatsiya posted revenues of US$250 million.

Oaklins' team in Russia acted as the exclusive consultant for the main shareholders of the company in a transaction involving the sale of a controlling interest to a group of private investors.
