PNC Riverarch Capital has completed its acquisition of a controlling interest in Goldco, LLC, one of the largest Burger King franchisees in the United States and a portfolio company of Equicorp Partners, an Atlanta-based private investment firm, for an undisclosed consideration.

PNC Riverarch Capital is a private equity arm of PNC Financial Services Group Inc. specializing in investments in later stage, mature, middle market, buyout, industry consolidation, and recapitalization investments. The fund typically invests in the United States and Canada. PNC Riverarch Capital was founded in 2011 and is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Goldco, LLC operates a chain of Burger King restaurants in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. The company was incorporated in 2008 and is based in Dothan, Alabama.

Equicorp Partners, LLC is a private equity firm specializing in investments in mid-sized companies. The firm invests in buyouts, recapitalization, debt restructurings, consolidations, and growth capital transactions. The firm seeks to take a minority or controlling stake in its portfolio companies. Equicorp Partners, LLC was founded in 2005 and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Concurrent with the closing of the transaction, Goldco acquired 33 restaurants located in Broward County, Florida, from Burger King Worldwide, Inc. PNC Riverarch Capital is a middle-market private equity firm which invests in privately held companies in North America.

Over the course of consecutive engagements that spanned three years, one of Oaklins' teams in the USA was able to sustain interest on both the buyers' and seller's part, after unforeseen circumstances suspended the initial process, to ultimately advise on a more ideally-timed transaction.
