Ardeya Global has acquired Costella Inc.
Ardeya Global, based in the United Arab Emirates, has acquired the water bottling company Costella Inc. from Gozdarstvo Grča. Financial details have not been disclosed.
Ardeya Global is a SPV for the acquisition of the water bottling company. Ardeya Global has a diversified portfolio, mainly in the drilling industry. The new owner has long-term plans with the company and wants to boost Costella's presence in the Slovenian market as well as to take it to new markets in Northern Africa and the Middle East.
Costella is a Slovenian water bottling company present in the market with 13 brand names. Besides Costella natural mineral water, the company markets other products ranging from flavored water, sport drinks and baby products. Natural mineral water Costella springs from the source in the heart of unspoilt nature along the edges of a preserved primeval forest.
The forestry company Gozdarstvo Grča invested heavily in the water bottling business in 2006 but after a few successful years, financial results deteriorated and the owner was not able to repay high lease installments so the leasing company started to look for alternatives.
Oaklins' team in Slovenia advised the buyer in this transaction, including due diligence and certain post acquisition tasks. The transaction was closed in a deal structure that involved mitigation of multiple claims and risks.
