Nicolas is a director at Oaklins E. Canada. He has advised on numerous transactions covering acquisitions, mergers and divestitures in a variety of industries, such as financial services, IT and aerospace & defense. Key transactions he has worked on include the sale of Western Financial Group and Petsecure to Wawanesa and Economical, the acquisition of State Farm Canada and Qtrade Securities by Desjardins and the Aviso Wealth merger. Since joining the firm, Nicolas has advised on successful mandates for such clients as Cad Railway Industries, Plurison, Transports RDT, Importfab and APG Neuros.
Prior to joining Oaklins E. Canada, Nicolas was an advisor in the corporate development team at Desjardins, the largest financial cooperative in North America, where he worked on a number of restructuring deals. He began his career as a research consultant advising prominent institutional clients, such as Caisse des Dépôts et Placement du Québec, the Ministry of Finance and the Autorité des Marchés Financiers. Nicolas has also been involved in several startup companies. He has an MBA from Laval University, an MSc in Finance from Université de Lille and an MSc in Economic Sciences from Université d'Artois. He is also a CFA charterholder.
