H2 Equity Partners has successfully invested in Multi Pilot Simulations

tombstone_1483364473Oaklins Netherlands is pleased to announce that H2 Equity Partners invested a majority stake in Multi Pilot Simulations (“MPS” or the “Company”).

MPS, founded in 2007, is a groundbreaking manufacturer of fixed-base flight simulators for (airline) pilot training and bridges the gap between the (low-fidelity) traditional fixed-base simulators and the (high-fidelity) full-motion simulators that are currently being offered in the market. The Company integrates more than 150,000 components into flight simulators in its facility near Utrecht, the Netherlands. MPS’ team of experts design, produce, install and maintain flight simulators based on the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 for flight schools (such as EPST) and airlines (such as Ryanair) worldwide.

H2 Equity Partners, the well-known private equity firm with offices in Amsterdam and London, will support the existing management team of the fast-growing Dutch fixed-base simulator manufacturer with the realization of its growth plans. The successful strategy of the Company will remain unchanged. H2 Equity Partners replaces amongst others Mainport Innovation Fund as shareholder, who joined MPS in 2011. Together with H2 Equity Partners as a new investor, MPS will continue to independently serve the growing aviation training market with its high-end and very competitive fixed-base simulators.

Harmen Geerts, Partner H2 Equity Partners: “H2 Equity Partners has been very impressed with the highly innovative products and services of MPS and with its management team. We believe there is an increasing need for professional fixed-base simulators to enable the best possible training for the growing number of pilots of jet aircrafts globally. We look forward to supporting MPS in its next phase of growth.

Dick Verburg, President and CEO MPS: “We are very excited to have such a professional party as H2 Equity Partners as our new investor. We thank Mainport Innovation Fund for their trust and support in MPS over the last 5 years. I am looking forward to work with H2 Equity Partners and my management team to further grow our simulator business and to continue to contribute to flight training quality and aviation safety. Oaklins assisted us perfectly throughout the process, leveraging on their international network and in-depth sector expertise.

Oaklins’ team in the Netherlands together with Oaklins’ Aerospace and Defense team in the US acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to the shareholders of MPS in this transaction.
