Laboratórios Osler do Brasil has been acquired by S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc.
The private shareholders of Laboratórios Osler do Brasil Ltda. have sold the company to S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. (S.C. Johnson) for an undisclosed consideration.
Laboratórios Osler do Brasil is a manufacturer of cosmetics. The company's unique strategy to handle insect repellents as an OTX drug resulted in a leadership position in the dramatically growing Brazilian market of insect repellents sold in pharmacies. With its pharmaceutical positioning the company has a light structure, high profitability with above market margins and high growth potential.
S. C. Johnson manufactures, markets and sells household products to customers. It offers products in the categories that include home cleaning, fresher and hygienic, air care and home fragrance, pest control, home storage, shoe care, auto care, and professional products. The company sells its products online and through groceries, drug stores, mass merchandisers, convenience stores, and mom-and-pop shops worldwide. S. C. Johnson was founded in 1886 and is based in Racine, Wisconsin. It has operations in 72 countries and its brands are sold worldwide.
Laboratórios Osler do Brasil was owned by a Brazilian entrepreneur (50%) and a french entity called Science Infuse (50%). Science Infuse currently sells repellents in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In 2005, Science Infuse sold Laboratoire Osler France, producer of the Insect Ecran repellent brand, to Cooper Labs.
Oaklins' team in Braziil acted as the exclusive advisor to the seller in this transaction. The team identified fifteen qualified and highly interested buyers through a disciplined sale process. The team negotiated with three potential buyers to get the best deal for its client.
