Symbiotix, Inc. has been acquired by Havas Health, Inc.
Symbiotix, a US medical communications and marketing agency, has been sold to Paris-based Havas and has become part of Havas Health, a leading, global healthcare marketing network. Financial details were not disclosed. Symbiotix leverages science and strategy to engage physicians and other healthcare professionals (HCPs).
Symbiotix was founded in 1998 by Tim and Jo Ann Rice in Lexington, Kentucky. The company will continue to operate from Lexington, with the Rices serving as CEO and COO respectively. Approximately 40 percent of Symbiotix’s staff are based in field offices near major clients in California, Illinois, Pennsylvania and the New York Tristate area.
Havas Health owns and operates health and wellness communication networks. The company offers advertising, public relations, event promotion, digital marketing, direct-to-patient, consulting, DTC/DTP and B2B services. It also engages in educating medical and consumer communities about disease and treatment awareness, and provides strategic consultation for optimizing communications to HCPs, payers, patients and consumers. The addition of Symbiotix to its portfolio will help Havas Health meet the demand for enhanced medical communications.
