Fairchild Fashion Media, a unit of Condé Nast, has sold Fairchild Books to Bloomsbury Publishing Plc. for an undisclosed consideration.
Established in 1910 and used by students and professionals worldwide, Fairchild Books is one of the world's leading publishers of textbooks, reference titles and educational resources in the fields of fashion and interior design. Its titles cover a broad range of subject areas, including textiles, design foundations, retailing, visual merchandising, color theory, lighting, drawing and presentation, sustainability, etc.
Founded by Chief Executive Nigel Newton, Bloomsbury Publishing is a leading independent publishing house established in 1986. It has companies in London, New York, Sydney and Delhi. The company has four divisions: Academic and Professional, Information, Adult Publishing, and Children's Publishing.
Condé Nast is home to some of the world’s most celebrated media brands. In the United States, Condé Nast publishes 18 consumer magazines, four business-to-business publications, 27 websites, and more than 50 apps for mobile and tablet devices, all of which define excellence in their categories. The company also owns Fairchild Fashion Media, whose portfolio of brands serves as the leading source of news and analysis for the global fashion community.
