The private shareholders of Snavely Forest Products, Inc. have sold the company to Weekes Forest Products, Inc.

Founded in 1902, Snavely Forest Products is a recognized leader in the wholesale lumber and building products industry, delivering superior material, exceptional service and market expertise to customers both near and far. The company serves as a critical link between its highly diversified base of vendors and channel partners. It operates a multi-regional network of autonomous distribution centers positioned in several large and growing markets across the US.

Weekes Forest Products is the leading distributor of specialty building materials, commodity and MSR lumber, engineered wood components, and industrial materials. Founded in 1978, the company's sales and manufacturing network stretches over 13 states with 10 offices, seven distribution centers and two remanufacturing facilities.

One of Oaklins' teams in the USA served as the exclusive financial advisor to the seller in this transaction.

SCR Sibelco has received strategic advisory related to the exit of a minority shareholder. Different options were considered. On 8 December 2023, Sibelco announced its intention to launch a share buyback program, via a tender offer, to acquire up to 18.94% of outstanding shares for a price of €6,850 per share and a total deal consideration of €609 million. The program offered liquidity optionality to the exiting shareholder, as well as other minority shareholders looking forward to crystallizing some value. Sibelco is delighted to pursue with its ambitious mid-term growth plan thanks to a refocused shareholder register and the support of the founding families.
