Aer Lingus Group plc has sold a 25% stake to Intl. Airlines Group (IAG)
The Irish Government has sold its 25% stake in Aer Lingus Group plc to International Airlines Group (IAG) for US$360 million.
Aer Lingus Group plc, together with its subsidiaries, provides air travel services in Ireland. The company offers passenger and cargo transportation services from Ireland to the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. Aer Lingus is the national airline of Ireland and operates a fleet of 47 modern Airbus aircraft and carries over 10.6 million passengers per year on mainline and regional franchise services. Aer Lingus commenced contract flying services in 2013 serving domestic UK services between London Heathrow and Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Manchester, on behalf of Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited.
IAG, together with its subsidiaries, provides passenger and cargo transportation services in the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, and the rest of the world. It operates a fleet of 459 aircraft flying to 248 destinations.
