Dunbia Limited has merged to form a joint venture with Dawn Meats Group Limited
Jim and Jack Dobson, the founders and owners of Dunbia Limited, have sold the company to Dawn Meats Group Limited. Both companies have agreed a strategic partnership to establish a new joint venture with their UK operations. Financial details have not been disclosed.
Dunbia is a leading meat processor in the British Isles, with processing facilities in Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, England and the Republic of Ireland. Since being established in 1976, it has grown organically and through acquisitions to become one of the largest meat processors in Europe. Dunbia supplies local, national and international retail, commercial and foodservice markets via 11 processing facilities across Ireland and the UK, with additional sales offices in France and the Netherlands. It employs approximately 4,000 people.
Dawn Meats Group produces and supplies meat products. The company offers beef and lamb products, carcase and primal cuts, as well as comminuted products, ready-to-cook products, ready-to-heat products, and frozen burgers. It serves retail, foodservice, and manufacturing customers worldwide. The company was founded in 1980 and is based in Waterford, Ireland, with sales and marketing offices in Europe.
