Kofschip Groep has been acquired by Capital A
The private shareholders of Kofschip Groep, a full service ICT provider for the educational sector in the Netherlands, have sold the company to to Capital A.
Kofschip Groep has six distinct brands which include SLBdiensten, Slim.nl and IT-Workz. SLBdiensten is the market leader in the distribution of mainly generic software licenses to secondary and vocational schools in the Netherlands. The company’s business model results in significant cost savings for schools as SLBdiensten is able to successfully negotiate complex license agreements with global software vendors such as Microsoft and Adobe. While providing a clear value proposition for schools, SLBdiensten also adds true value for software vendors as license management is highly complex in the Dutch education market. Kofschip Groep also supplies software licenses to teachers, students and parents through its online web shop Slim.nl. It helps major software vendors to develop new ways of controlling software activation and usage. In addition, Kofschip Groep provides IT services and solutions to educational institutions through its other subsidiary IT-Workz. Solutions include cloud integration, implementation of IT infrastructures, secondment of IT professionals and advisory services.
Capital A, former ABN AMRO Participaties, is a Dutch private equity firm. It invests in profitable companies in the Netherlands with a solid market position, clear growth potential, autonomously or by means of acquisitions, and an actively involved and decisive management team that is prepared to co-invest.
Oaklins’ team in the Netherlands advised Kofschip Groep in the transaction.
