Fratelli Polli S.p.A. has acquired Valbona S.r.l.
Fratelli Polli S.p.A., a leading Italian brand, has acquired Valbona S.r.l. from Europa Investimenti S.p.A. Financial details have not been disclosed.
Fratelli Polli, a family company founded more than 140 years ago and now managed by the fifth and sixth generation, is one of the Italian leaders in packaged vegetables (glass packaged, immersed in oil or vinegar), sauces (pesto) and other dressings.
Founded in 1962 by the Marchetti family, Valbona operates on a national and international scale in the vegetable preserves market with a particular focus on olive oil and vinegar pickles, condiments, canned vegetable and healthy ready meals. Valbona has revenues of US$30 million and over US$1.9 million EBITDA.
Europa Investimenti is an Italian private equity firm specialized in special situation and distressed companies.
Oaklins' team in Italy assisted Fratelli Polli in the analysis and quantification of the financial resources needed to finance Valbona's new working capital and in the negotiation of the contracts with Europa Investimenti.
