Genshu (James) joined Maxus in March 2026. Prior to joining Maxus, he spent five years with several venture companies as CFO, head of business development and capital raising advisor. He has 24 years of experience in investment banking, including 21 years focused on cross-border M&A, primarily on large-scale transactions involving Japanese companies. James began his investment banking career at Salomon Brothers in Tokyo within the financial institutions group. He later joined Salomon Smith Barney in New York, where he worked in the domestic M&A group, and subsequently held positions at UBS, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Mizuho and SMBC Nikko. James holds a Bachelor of Science in systems engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
