Velsimex SA has been acquired by Grupo Pochteca

The private shareholders of Velsimex SA have sold the company to Grupo Pochteca for US$43 million.

Founded in 1989, Velsimex is the largest national provider of phytosanitary products in Mexico. The company formulates, synthetizes, commercializes and distributes its products. Velsimex has two plants, one that formulates and the other one that synthesizes products.

Grupo Pochteca specializes in the distribution of raw materials in Mexico. These include chemicals such as generic, inorganic and specialty chemicals for use in various industrial processes. It also offers ingredients and additives for the food industry, Shell lubricants for the manufacturing sector, and solvents and solvent blends comprising thinners, toluene, white gasoline, acetone, methanol and industrial alcohol.
