Senior Associate / Associate Director Debt Advisory – Amsterdam office

What we will offer
As Senior Associate / Associate Director you are a member of a specialized team, part of the 30 professionals in our Amsterdam office. You are able to translate the client’s needs into financing solutions. Credit assessment and investment propositions are a challenge for you, including analyzing and developing (complex) cash flow models. You are responsible for composing financing memoranda. You have relevant knowledge of loan documentation. You will maintain intensive contacts with national and international debt providers, like banks, mezzanine providers, debt funds and institutional parties.

You are the key between client and (potential) financiers; conduct conversations, run a smooth debt process and negotiate term sheets and loan documentation. Where possible we team up with our colleagues from the M&A and growth equity & ECM teams.

What we look for
We are looking for a Senior Associate / Associate Director to further expand our Debt Advisory team. Oaklins' debt advisory professionals support (listed) companies, management teams, shareholders, financial sponsors and debt providers with the origination and execution of (complex) financing structures from a truly independent position. We use our knowledge and relationships to identify solutions and institutions best suited to our client’s needs. As specialist your will be active in acquisition finance (LBO), corporate lending, asset based lending, restructuring and recapitalisations.

Your qualifications

  • 5-7 year relevant experience, preferably in the financial sector; in leveraged finance, structured lending or corporate finance
  • University degree
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with an eye for detail
  • Team player; strong social skills
  • Experience with process management and closing of transactions
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong commercial drive; able to initiate new assignments independently
  • Proactive attitude and self-starter
  • Ability to deliver high quality output, like financing memorandum and financial model

Marketing, Communications and HR support – Amsterdam office

We are looking for support of our team in the field of marketing, communication and HR to further strengthen our name and position in the market and to further professionalize the organization.
We understand that this combination is not a logical one, so we are looking for a person who has the ambition, the qualities and wide experience to take up this challenge with pleasure and confidence.

What your job can include:

  • Co-define and give meaning to communication, both offline and online, towards the M&A community, referrers, prospects and the labour market
  • Writing and maintaining content for the website and newsletters (like blogs, business cases of successful transactions, content for newsletters (80% in English))
  • Liaising with the different media and provide them with content on Oaklins
  • Supporting media and PR activities
  • Together with one of the partners take responsibility for HR. Assist employees in their development by providing support with assessments and training programs
  • Liaising with key target groups for Oaklins in the labour market, such as study associations and universities.

Your profile:

  • Team player, self-starter, inquisitive
  • College or university degree with a minimum of 5-8 years’ of experience in an entrepreneurial and professional environment
  • Affinity with the business and financial sector
  • Solid experience in BtB marketing and communications, preferably supplemented with HR experience;
  • Experience with various communication lines (offline and online)
  • Able to create strong relationships between Oaklins and journalists by connecting them with positive news about Oaklins
  • Excellent understanding of Dutch and English, both spoken and written

(Senior) Associate M&A – Amsterdam office

What we will offer
We offer you a position that comes with a high level of responsibility in executing M&A transactions. You will be part of or lead deal teams that consist of three to five persons. Depending on your experience, you are the primary point of contact for clients. You will be training and mentoring analysts but also have the opportunity to develop yourself by attending both internal and external training programmes.

What we will offer
As an analyst, you will participate in many aspects of M&A transactions. You will be involved in developing client presentations, building valuation models, conducting industry research and finding potential buyers and targets in various industries. Throughout the year, Oaklins Netherlands is offering 3-month internships to ambitious students with a clear interest in the Investment Banking industry.

What you will do and learn
As an intern, you will work along junior and senior Oaklins professionals and participate in many aspects of M&A transactions. The Oaklins Academy

Through a series of training workshops aimed at junior to middle-level employees and webinars for all levels, we help our people grow professionally and share best practices. The academy program encompasses a broad toolbox of corporate finance skills, such as financial modeling, negotiation and mediation, and deal and debt structuring. Training events are organized several times a year, predominantly in one of our European capitals. Most are attended by close to 20 Oaklins colleagues from around the globe.

Our Exchange Program

To forge those much-needed international relationships within our global organization, we organize international exchange programs for our associates all year round. They typically last a month, giving our colleagues a taste of M&A business outside their home country.
