Elecnor Deimos is being considered for a possible acquisition by Dauria Aerospace
Dauria Aerospace (the first Russian private aerospace company) has considered the possibility of acquiring Elecnor Deimos (Deimos).
Deimos is the aerospace and technology subsidiary of Elecnor Group, a listed Spanish industrial group founded in 1958. The company was created in 2001 by a group of engineers vastly experienced in the aerospace industry. It specializes in design, engineering and development of integrated solutions for satellite systems, remote sensing and telecommunication networks. Deimos has a solid international focus, with 35% of the business generated outside of Spain.
Dauria Aerospace was founded in 2011 by experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts with backgrounds from NASA, RapidEye and the Russian space program, to develop low-cost infrastructure for rapid monitoring of ground assets and activity. It integrates low-cost satellite constellations with a unique cloud-based platform that provides an advanced framework and easy access to GEO-application developers.
With nearly 60 years of continuous growth and a presence in more than 40 countries, Elecnor has become one of the most outstanding Spanish business groups and a benchmark in the infrastructure, renewable energy and technology sectors. Business diversification has been one of its strategic aims throughout its history, enabling its involvement in a number of industries which range from electricity, gas, industrial plants, railways, telecommunications, water, control systems, construction, the environment and installation maintenance to aerospace engineering.
Oaklins' team in Russia advised Dauria Aerospace in this envisaged transaction. The Russian team started negotiations and conducted due diligence of the target company.
