East Yorkshire Motor Services has been acquired by Go-Ahead Group plc

The shareholders of East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd (EYMS) have sold the company to Go-Ahead Group plc.

Established in 1926 and owned and operated for the last three decades by the Shipp family, East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd (EYMS) transports over 17 million passengers annually, has a workforce of 700 staff and runs over 300 buses and coaches throughout Hull, East Riding and the North Yorkshire coast in the UK.

Go-Ahead is one of the UK's leading public transport providers generating around US$4.5 billion turnover from more than a billion bus and rail journeys each year. The group was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1994 and is included in the FTSE 250.

Oaklins Smith & Williamson, based in the UK, advised the shareholders of East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd (EYMS) in this transaction.
