John is a managing director at Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips in New York, with an over 30-year background in both M&A and strategic advisory services across healthcare services, software and technology clients. He is a member of both Oaklins’ healthcare services and TMT teams. John recently advised the owners and investors in Golden Hour Data Systems, Inc., a market leading provider of clinical information systems for life flight system operators globally, on their sale to Zoll Data Systems, and was recognized for work in leading several industry transforming software transactions in the oil & gas software field, including the sale of Earth Decision Sciences S.A. of Bordeaux, France, to Houston-based Paradigm Technologies B.V.
For many years, John was managing director and co-head of M&A advisory services for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where he originated and executed transactions representing in excess of US$6 billion in value. Many of these transactions were in healthcare, HCIT and enterprise SaaS software. Earlier in his career, John worked in venture and growth equity at Canaan Partners and as an M&A lawyer at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in Silicon Valley. He was also a director of business development for a large energy company’s operations in Australia and Southeast Asia, and served as the COO of an early pioneer in the mobile electronic software field. John has a joint JD/MBA from Stanford University’s Law School and Graduate School of Business and a BS from the University of California, San Diego.
