Tamotsu Moriyama

Principal

Tamotsu is the president and representative director of Oaklins Maxus Corporate Advisory in Japan. He has consistently been involved in M&A advisory services throughout his career, participating in the successful completion of over 500 M&A and related transactions over the past 20 years. Specializing as a financial advisor for midsize deals, he has been engaged in a wide range of projects, including M&A transactions, restructuring-related M&A, business succession-type M&A, corporate and equity valuation assignments, preferred share structuring and corporate reorganizations.

Tamotsu founded Oaklins Maxus Corporate Advisory in 2013, and continues to serve as its president and representative director. Before this, he held key roles at Ernst & Young, Stern Stewart, Nomura Securities and Frontier Management. While studying at the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Economics, he passed the second stage of the Japanese CPA exam. He also has a US CPA qualification and is a certified member analyst of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan (CMA).
