Construmart S.A. has been acquired by Inversiones RTB S.p.A., marking the successful conclusion of an investment process led by financial investors FIP Hammer and ushering the company into a new phase of expansion under the leadership of an experienced local family office.
Construmart S.A. is a specialist distributor of construction materials and home improvement products, serving construction companies, hardware stores and master builders across Chile. The company operates through two main channels: retail with in-store sales and B2B through direct sales to engineering and construction firms.
Inversiones RTB S.p.A. is an experienced Chilean family office.
FIP Hammer is a private investment fund formed by a group of local Chilean investors.
Oaklins’ team in Chile acted as the exclusive financial advisor to FIP Hammer in the sale of a 100% stake in Construmart S.A. to Inversiones RTB S.p.A. FIP Hammer had originally acquired Construmart S.A. in 2018 through a transaction also led and structured by the Chilean team. During that process, the team organized a group of local investors who acquired the company with a seven-year investment horizon. This successful investment concluded with the recent transaction, achieving a net internal rate of return (IRR) of 19.3% in local currency.
