Electro Optic Systems has acquired the UK interceptor business of MARSS

Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited (ASX: EOS) has acquired the UK-based interceptor unmanned aerial system business of MARSS Group for US$6.4 million (€5.5 million). The interceptor is a reusable electric drone effector guided by imaging sensors and AI, which EOS will integrate into its counter-drone portfolio for defense and critical infrastructure customers. EOS plans further investment to complete development.

EOS is an Australian defense and space technology company that designs, manufactures and supports remote weapon systems, counter-drone and directed energy solutions, space domain awareness sensors and satellite communication systems for government and defense customers in Australia, the UK and other allied markets. The company operates through its defense systems and space systems divisions, with capabilities spanning weapon system integration, ISR, C4 and space control.

The acquired UK-based interceptor unmanned aerial system business develops reusable electric kinetic interceptors, which are integrated with the MARSS NiDAR counter-UAS command and control platform. The interceptor uses imaging sensors, infrared seekers and AI-based guidance to track and defeat fast, agile drones at ranges of up to approximately five kilometers. This provides a low-cost, low-collateral effector for defense, critical infrastructure and civil customers. The business is at an early commercial stage, supported by a small specialist engineering team.

MARSS is a privately owned defense and security technology company that provides AI-powered NiDAR IoT and command and control solutions for multi-domain surveillance and infrastructure protection. Its NiDAR CUAS system fuses radar, radio frequency (RF), electro-optic and other sensors to detect, classify, track and defeat unmanned aerial systems and other asymmetric threats, offering modular counter-drone and perimeter security solutions for military and civil customers worldwide.
