PRAE-TURBO Group has been acquired by Halder
The shareholders of PRAE-TURBO Group have sold the company to Halder, a private equity investor, for an undisclosed consideration.
PRAE-TURBO was established in 2003 and focuses on machining compressor wheels for automotive turbochargers. In a highly automated manufacturing process, aluminum and titanium wheels are precision-turned, milled and balanced on state-of-the-art CNC machining centers according to exacting client specifications. With continuing strong demand, PRAE-TURBO is currently expanding its Schwanewede facility and will increase capacity as additional machining centers are installed during 2015. Oliver Romano and his management team will become shareholders and are committed to ambitious international growth plans.
Halder is a private equity investor which is focused on small to medium-sized enterprises. Halder was selected by the sellers as the perfect new owner who is capable of accelerating the company’s internationalization. Through the previously acquired French CCN Group, a manufacturer of complementary turbocharger parts with production facilities across major international automotive markets, Halder has already gained relevant industry experience since 2011. CCN and PRAE-TURBO will continue to operate as separate entities, focusing on their existing strategies and customers. They will cooperate to strengthen their international expansion especially in the Americas and Asia Pacific region.
“During the past eleven years, Dr. Jung, Mr Wahlers and I have developed PRAE-TURBO into a very successful and innovative business. With Halder, we have found a partner who supports us in the internationalization and offers synergies generated with their portfolio company CCN. M&A was a new territory for us. Angermann’s team has not only set standards in availability and commitment, but also impressed us with their detailed expertise. Even during time-critical and complex negotiation situations, Angermann kept an overview and thus made a significant contribution to the successful completion of this transaction," said Oliver Romano, PRAE-TURBO Managing Director.
Oaklins' team in Germany advised the shareholders of PRAE-TURBO Group in this transaction.
