Smart Energy Decisions has been acquired by Diversified Communications

Smart Energy Decisions (SED) has been sold to Diversified Communications, a leading international media company with a portfolio of face-to-face exhibitions and
conferences, online communities, and digital and print publications.

Founded in 2016 by John Failla, Smart Energy Decisions informs and supports commercial and industrial electric power customers as they navigate the transition to
renewables and minimize consumption of fossil fuels. Organizer of Net Zero Forums, Renewable Energy Forums and Innovation Summits, and producers of webinars, podcasts, eNewsletters, research, and custom media, SED complements Diversified’s existing clean energy portfolio already serving solar, energy storage, and EV charging infrastructure markets.

As producers of these market-leading products, Diversified Communications connects, educates and strengthens business communities in over 15 industries, including clean energy, food and beverage, healthcare, natural and organic, business management and technology. Established in 1949 and headquartered in Portland, Maine, with divisions and offices around the world, Diversified Communications remains a privately held, third-generation, family-owned business.

Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips, one of Oaklins’ TMT teams in New York, acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Smart Energy Decisions in this transaction. This deal further highlights our deep sector expertise in advising marketing and media businesses, specifically those within the events industry.
