Market Review Q3 2019

Continued high M&A activity in Denmark

Resumé

The years third quarter indicate a stable level of M&A activity in Denmark, with only one transaction less than Q3 in the previous year. Danish companies have a record high appetite for international acquisitions, not seen since 2014. Looking at the European M&A market collectively, the level of activity is slightly lower both compared to last quarter (Q2) and to Q3 in previous years. The outset of this comparison is however, a historically high activity level in recent years.

We see in 2019 a continued strong M&A market. The pricing of private companies is at an attractive and stabil level, and the buyer interest seems strong from both strategic and finansial players worldwide. We also see, as a reaction to the latest prospects, that potential buyers become more focused and thorough in their due diligence. DANIEL SAND – MANAGING PARTNER, OAKLINS DENMARK
