Nominations for the 2021 M&A Awards
Ending the year on a strong note
Fueled by pandemic recovery, M&A activity in the Netherlands is on track to set a record-breaking year. At Oaklins, we have lost no momentum either, having closed 31 deals to date. As strong financial company performances and high valuations are a perfect recipe for company owners to exit, while buyers are eager to deploy capital, we expect to close the year on a strong note.
As discussed in our latest Private Equity newsletter, the TMT sector remains the most active sector in the Dutch M&A market. This is something our TMT team can relate to, having closed eight deals to date, such as the acquisition of Vabi by Vitec and the investment of Capital A in QS Solutions. With more deals in the pipeline, we expect to reach double digits in terms of closed TMT deals before the end of the year.
At the same time, the topic of renewable energy remains on the top of our agenda and of those of investors, a sector that is currently more relevant than ever as the effects of climate change are becoming evident and fuel and gas prices are skyrocketing. With deals such as the acquisition of Zonnepanelen op het Dak by Elevion Group and the acquisition of MB Zonnepanelen by Tenten Solar, it becomes clear that renewable energy is the way forward, and that Oaklins is the leading sectorspecialist in this space. With an increasing number of companies understanding the importance and need to ‘go green’, we are able to provide our clients the tools to make this transition happen.
We are therefore happy to see our efforts reflected in the nominations for the 2021 M&A Awards, with the nominations in the categories Best Small Cap Deal and Best Young M&A Advisor.
