Ronald Staat

Managing Director

Ronald is the chief operating officer at Oaklins Netherlands, responsible for the firm’s operational, organizational and strategic development. He is part of the leadership team, working closely with them to strengthen governance, scalability and execution excellence across M&A and capital raising activities. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in corporate banking and capital markets, Ronald supports Oaklins’ professionals in delivering high-quality buy- and sell-side M&A, growth capital and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs, corporates and financial sponsors. He brings particular expertise in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and supports the firm’s sector teams, most notably in food & agriculture, industrials and business services, by embedding disciplined processes, performance management and a strong client-first culture that enables consistent deal execution.

Before joining Oaklins Netherlands, Ronald spent over two decades at Rabobank, where he held senior leadership roles across corporate clients, capital markets and governance. As the managing director of corporate clients, he was responsible for the commercial and strategic leadership of large corporate client teams and was closely involved in M&A-related financing, acquisitions and board-level advisory. Earlier, he led international equity sales teams in Europe and the US, working alongside corporate finance teams on IPOs and capital market transactions. Ronald began his career at Mars and Procter & Gamble. He has a master’s degree in strategic marketing from Erasmus University Rotterdam and has completed executive education programs at INSEAD, HEC Paris and London Business School, alongside governance, leadership and Lean management certifications.
