AMPAC's In-Space Propulsion Div. has been acquired by Moog Inc.
American Pacific Corporation (AMPAC) has sold its In-Space Propulsion Division to Moog Inc. for approximately US$46 million in cash.
AMPAC's In-Space Propulsion Division is a leading developer and manufacturer of liquid propulsion systems and components for satellites and missile defense systems.
Moog Inc. designs, manufactures and integrates precision motion and fluid controls and control systems for original equipment manufacturers and end users worldwide.
American Pacific Corporation (AMPAC) was founded in Henderson, Nevada, in 1955 for the purpose of manufacturing specialty chemicals, principally oxidizers. Since then, the business has expanded to include both, specialty and fine chemicals, with customers spanning the globe. For the aerospace and defense industry AMPAC provides specialty chemicals used in solid rocket motors for space launch and military missiles. The company also produces clean fire extinguishing agents for the fire protection industry. AMPAC products are designed to meet customer specifications and often must meet certain governmental and regulatory approvals.
