Pesquera Exalmar has acquired Pesquera Centinela from Grupo Romero.
Founded over 30 years ago, Pesquera Exalmar is the third-largest company in Peru’s fishing industry. It operates across both the indirect human consumption (IHC) and direct human consumption (DHC) segments, with a fleet of 27 vessels and five processing plants along the Peruvian coast. As of the end of 2024, the company led national production of fishmeal and fish oil, holding an 18% market share.
Founded in 1995, the Peruvian company Pesquera Centinela specializes in the extraction and processing of fish to produce fishmeal, fish oil and products intended for direct human consumption. The company operates a fleet of 11 owned vessels with a total holding capacity of 3,400 m³, as well as three production plants located in Chimbote, Chancay and Tambo de Mora. Together, these facilities offer a combined processing capacity of 245 metric tons per hour.
