Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. has finalized a voluntary public exchange offer for 100% of Mediobanca S.p.A.’s share capital, marking a significant step in the consolidation of the Italian banking sector.

Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena specializes in the provision of retail and commercial banking services. It operates through the following business segments: retail banking, wealth management, corporate banking, large corporate and investment banking and corporate center.

Mediobanca provides financial and banking services through its corporate and investment banking, insurance–principal investing, consumer finance, wealth management and holding functions divisions.

As a publicly listed company, Mediobanca had a widely dispersed shareholder base.

Oaklins Italy’s parent company, Banca Akros, served as the appointed broker for the collection of shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena’s voluntary public exchange offer for 100% of Mediobanca’s share capital.
