Strawberry Equities has sold Ecohz to Caely Renewables
Ecohz, a global renewable energy company, has been acquired by environmental commodity trading house Caely Renewables from Strawberry Equities. The transaction marks an important new chapter for Ecohz and brings together two organizations with complementary strengths, aligned in their commitment to accelerating the global energy transition.
Founded over 18 years ago, Ecohz has developed into a well-established global renewable energy and sustainability solutions company with deep market expertise and strong customer relationships. The company supports corporate clients with renewable energy sourcing, energy attribute certificates and carbon solutions to facilitate decarbonization and the transition to net-zero emissions. Ecohz serves a broad international customer base and holds a strong position in the Nordic market.
Caely Renewables is a global environmental commodity trading house specializing in non-fossil, certified market-based solutions. The company supports organizations in decarbonizing heat, power, transport and industrial processes, enabling progress toward Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission targets and the global energy transition. Headquartered in Amsterdam, Caely leads its European activities from the Netherlands, with a North American trading hub in Houston, Texas, and additional European sales offices in Stockholm and Genoa. The company is active across three main renewable markets: feedstock and biofuels, clean energy and voluntary and compliance carbon certificates.
Strawberry Equities is a privately held corporation consisting of 20 companies across finance, real estate, hotels and art.
Oaklins’ team in Norway acted as joint advisor, together with Arctic Securities, to Strawberry Equities, the majority shareholder of Ecohz, providing strategic advice and managing the transaction process from initial preparation through to successful completion. Oaklins’ team in the Netherlands supported the early stages of the transaction.
