Paul Slavin

Paul is a managing director at Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips in New York. Focused on advising publishing, marketing, healthcare and data services companies, both traditional and digital, he leads Oaklins’ healthcare communications & technology and book publishing teams.

A former investigative journalist and media executive, Paul has produced hundreds of broadcasts, winning 12 Emmys, a DuPont and the Edward R. Murrow Award, to mention a few. He was at the forefront of medical and technology reporting for over 30 years. As the executive producer of World News Tonight followed by running all coverage for ABC News, he brought extensive resources and a new emphasis to healthcare-focused coverage. Subsequently, he was the EVP and COO of Everyday Health, where he acquired a number of health properties in addition to preparing that company for an IPO and its subsequent sale. His involvement continued with advising and consulting roles at a number of health information businesses as well as data and marketing enterprises, including Sharecare. Additionally, as the CEO of a digital marketing company and publisher, he bought companies and subsequently sold the totality to private equity. His experience continues as an advisor to large and midsized publishers. He is a University of Chicago graduate, and did graduate work in economics at New York University.
