Kyokuyo Co. has acquired Engelsviken Canning Denmark and Engelsviken Norway

Kyokuyo Co., Ltd. has acquired a 90% stake in Engelsviken Canning Denmark and its wholly owned subsidiary, Engelsviken Norway, to expand its sales coverage in the Nordic market. This strategic acquisition is expected to enhance Kyokuyo’s synergies across its existing European operations and further accelerate the company’s global expansion.

Kyokuyo is a publicly listed Japanese company primarily engaged in the seafood and food processing industries. Its operations span the entire value chain, from catching, processing and selling marine products to manufacturing frozen and shelf-stable foods. The company also provides logistics services such as the operation of refrigerated warehouses, as well as the procurement, processing and distribution of a wide range of fish products.

Engelsviken, founded in 1867 in a Norwegian port town, began as a seafood processing and sales company. Today, its Engelsviken-branded shrimp products are widely recognized across supermarkets and food service establishments in the Nordic region, particularly in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, where the brand has established a strong market presence. Engelsviken Canning Denmark is responsible for the production and sales of all products, while Engelsviken Norway focuses on import and export operations, as well as domestic sales within the seafood sector.

Oaklins’ team in Denmark acted as the financial advisor to the buyer in the transaction.
