IMS Group AS has acquired Jowa AB

IMS Group AS has purchased all shares of Jowa AB and its subsidiaries in a transaction taking place on 30 April 2023.

IMS Group is a Norwegian group of companies focusing on leading technological solutions for the offshore and marine market. The vision is to be the preferred supplier of cost-efficient solutions, ensuring safe and sustainable operations. Today, they're the world-leading supplier of watertight doors, safety windows, ballast water management systems, incinerators, ejectors, and fire-rated doors and windows, fire-resistant aluminum and glass structures with independent offices in Norway, Germany, Finland, Singapore, China, and USA – and several agents worldwide representing the group. With the acquisition of Jowa, IMS Group now has 500 employees.

Oaklins’ ability to help us get comfortable with Jowa’s global group structure, has been critical to the success of the transaction. Their strategic insight and negotiating tactics secured IMS a predictable path towards finalizing the deal. Roy Langseth, CEO at IMS Group AS

Jowa, a Swedish based group of companies, has supplied the maritime industry with environmental protection equipment for more than 60 years and has earned a solid reputation. They are specialists in water treatment and protection of the marine environment. The products are designed to contribute to the global ecosystem by protecting the marine environment with the latest and best technology. With HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden, Jowa has offices in the Netherlands, Greece, and Singapore along with factories in China and USA, having a workforce of 110 dedicated employees.

Jowa is globally recognized for its high-quality products and fits seamlessly within the IMS Group. The range of products offered by Jowa complements those of TeamTec AS, another IMS Group subsidiary. IMS intends to capitalize on the synergistic expertise within the Group to further enhance and advance Jowa's market position.

It was a pleasure working alongside IMS’ legal advisor Olof Myhrman and his colleagues, Per Nylander and Jesper Almqvist in Morris Law.
