M&A INDUSTRY UPDATE | Marine Equipment

M&A activity in the Nordic marine equipment sector remained resilient in H1 2026 despite a more selective transaction environment. A total of 28 companies were acquired during the period, in line with the record activity seen in H1 2025.

International buyer interest remains particularly strong. The number of Nordic marine equipment companies sold sold to international buyers in H1 2026 has already matched the full-year 2025 level, underlining the global competitiveness of the region’s specialized equipment and technology providers.

Financial investors were involved in half of all transactions during the period. Businesses combining differentiated technology, recurring lifecycle revenues and international growth potential continue to attract both strategic buyers and financial investors.

The strongest marine equipment businesses combine differentiated market positions, recurring lifecycle revenues and international relevance. Those qualities continue to attract both strategic buyers and financial sponsors. NIKOLAI LUNDE, Marine Equipment Specialist and Managing Partner at Oaklins Norway
