KOSIT has secured syndicated bank financing

June 2026 — KOSIT AS has successfully secured US$260 million in new debt financing from a syndicate comprising Tatra banka AS and Československá obchodná banka AS (ČSOB). Most of the proceeds will fund a new waste-to-energy plant in Košice, Slovakia, expanding KOSIT’s existing facility to produce electricity and heat. The remainder will fund acquisitions, further development projects and the refinancing of existing debt. The financing reinforces KOSIT’s position as a leading Slovak waste management group, operating one of the country’s two strategic waste-to-energy plants.

KOSIT is a leading waste management company serving the municipal and industrial sectors across Slovakia, with over 1,340 employees and 4,500 customers. As a vertically integrated waste management group, it offers a comprehensive range of services spanning waste collection, transportation, sorting, energy recovery and disposal at its own landfills.
