Stephen Perry

Managing Director

Stephen is the managing director and co-founder of Janes Capital Partners, Oaklins’ aerospace, defense & security (ADS) specialist member firm in Irvine. He also leads Oaklins’ aerospace, defense & security team and aircraft systems team. Starting his career on Wall Street, Stephen has over 25 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate divestitures, management buy-outs, and debt and equity financing. He has completed over 50 aerospace, defense & security M&A transactions valued at over US$4 billion. Notable transactions include advising Frontier Systems in connection with its sale to the Boeing Company, as well as industry legend Burt Rutan in connection with the sale of Scaled Composites to Northrop Grumman. More recent transactions include the acquisition of Thomson Aerospace & Defense, a subsidiary of Meggitt PLC (LSE: MGGT), by UmbraGroup S.p.A; the sale of Matrix Composites to ITT Inc. (NYSE: ITT); and the sale of IntelliPower to AMETEK, Inc. (NYSE: AME). Stephen has extensive relationships with ADS companies both in the USA and overseas, and has been involved in a number of cross-border transactions.

Previously, Stephen held various roles of increasing responsibility at Credit-Suisse First Boston, Kayne Anderson and Irving Trust Company. He has an MBA in Finance from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Business and a BA in Finance and Accounting from Georgetown University. Stephen regularly attends and speaks at various aerospace & defense industry conferences and trade shows.
