Hartmanns A/S has been acquired by Actief Group

June 2022 — The partnership with Hartmanns enables Actief Group to enter the Danish market and add a strong complementary company with a solid client base to its activities. Hartmanns and Actief have a similar strategy which is focused on a local-for-local approach, thereby providing high-value services to its clients. With this acquisition, Actief Group follows its growth strategy of the past couple of years, focused on achieving above market organic growth complemented with strategic add-on acquisitions.

Hartmanns, founded in 1996, is a Danish HR services provider, headquartered in Ballerup, near Copenhagen. It provides end-to-end HR services to both private and public clients. The company covers the full circle: from temporary workers and recruitment to outplacement and advisory services within the working environment.

Actief Group, founded in 1988 in Lummen, Belgium, is one of the largest independent staffing companies in western Europe. Actief delivers a professional link between supply and demand on the labor market and offers companies an optimal and flexible service in their search for personnel.

With the acquisition of Hartmanns, Actief Group now operates throughout five countries: Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Denmark, with more than 230 branches in total. In 2022, sales are expected to reach US$836 million. Actief Group is backed by Gilde Equity Management.

Parties
“As a founding partner of Hartmanns 25 years ago, it was very important for me to find the right new owner. Oaklins demonstrated a strong understanding of our industry with relevant relationships to leading international staffing companies including Actief, and I am pleased that Hartmanns will continue as a platform for further expansion in Denmark as part of a strong group.”
