JWC Logistics has raised US$9.6 million in structured debt financing
December 2024 — JWC Logistics Private Limited has raised US$9.6 million in structured debt financing to fund the acquisition of land. The financing was non-conventional, as banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) are not permitted to provide debt for land acquisitions.
JWC Logistics Private Limited is part of JW Group, one of the leading logistics players in Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT), with best-in-class infrastructure and a strong client portfolio. The group operates across container handling, including container freight stations (CFS) and direct port delivery (DPD); third-party logistics (3PL); and warehousing, including cold chain, flexible and customs-bonded facilities. It is a one-stop shop for a range of logistics services and creates additional value through the development of logistics assets. The company has also created India’s largest less-than-container load (LCL) consolidator marketplace operating from its premises.
Our role in the transaction
Oaklins’ team in India structured and advised JWC Logistics Private Limited on this US$9.6 million debt financing. As traditional banks are not permitted to finance land acquisitions, the funding was secured from alternative financing sources and collateralized against the company’s future cash flows.
