CFI has completed the entry of FS Logistix as a minority shareholder
April 2026 — FS Logistix S.p.A., the logistics arm of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane S.p.A., has acquired a 30% minority stake in Compagnia Ferroviaria Italiana S.p.A. (CFI), a rail freight operator controlled by FHP Group and backed by F2i SGR. The transaction is part of an industrial partnership aimed at strengthening intermodal rail freight logistics, improving efficiency and service coverage and supporting EU objectives related to modal shift and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.
CFI is an Italian rail freight operator active in intermodal and bulk rail transportation. The company operates in the rail segment of the logistics value chain, providing rail freight services that support industrial and intermodal logistics flows. Through its recent integration with Lotras, CFI is also active in road-rail transport, including the transportation of liquid food products.
FS Logistix is wholly owned by the Italian state railway group Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and serves as the group’s logistics and rail freight platform. The company is active in rail freight transportation, intermodal logistics and integrated supply chain solutions. Operating across Italy and Europe, it provides end-to-end services ranging from rail haulage to terminal and infrastructure management, supporting industrial and international trade flows with a strong focus on efficiency, connectivity and sustainable transportation.
FHP Group is an integrated port-rail logistics operator active in bulk, general cargo and intermodal logistics. The group manages 10 port terminals and four intermodal inland terminals and operates a fleet of 50 locomotives and more than 1,000 freight wagons, transporting more than 10 million tons of goods annually across Italy and Europe.
