Costas is a managing partner and co-founder of Oaklins Valuation Advisory, part of Oaklins Netherlands. He has over 20 years of experience in business and share valuation, intellectual property valuation and the quantification of financial damages, with particular expertise in shareholder disputes and complex commercial litigation. Costas acts as a party-appointed valuation and damages expert and has also been appointed as an independent expert by the Dutch courts. His litigation experience spans the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and includes minority shareholder disputes, alleged misrepresentations in corporate transactions, intellectual property disputes, financial misstatements, investment losses and loss of profits. He has been involved in significant, high-profile litigation matters, including a court-appointed expert assignment concerning one of the world’s largest online content-sharing platforms and expert witness work in proceedings involving UK public authorities. His assignments have included business and share valuations, financial damages assessments and the provision of expert witness evidence. Beyond litigation, Costas advises on fairness opinions, private equity valuations, financial restructurings and other complex corporate valuation matters.

Before joining Oaklins Netherlands, Costas held senior valuation advisory positions at Teneo, FTI Consulting, Smith & Williamson, EY and Kroll in London and Amsterdam. Costas has a PhD in Finance from the University of Cambridge. He is a member of the Landelijk Register van Gerechtelijke Deskundigen (LRGD), RICS and the Academy of Experts in the United Kingdom, and is included on the Netherlands Arbitration Institute’s Arbitrators List. He has published numerous articles on business valuation, share valuation and the assessment of financial damages, including in Management Scope, CFO.nl and Expertise en Recht. He also regularly provides valuation training to law firms and universities.
