Hostelbookers.com Limited has been acquired by Web Reservations International
HostelBookers.com Limited (HostelBookers), a leading UK online travel agency in the hostel and budget accommodation sector, has been acquired by Web Reservations International (WRI). The financial terms of this transaction have not been disclosed.
HostelBookers, which was founded in 2003, has quickly grown into a leading provider of budget accommodation, and currently has a portfolio of more than 20,000 properties in over 3,500 locations.
Dublin-based WRI provides technology, distribution and marketing solutions to accommodation and other travel suppliers worldwide through a network of owned sites and affiliate partners. It is a portfolio company of leading private equity investor Hellman & Friedman. WRI was founded in 1999 and has representative offices in Shanghai, Sydney and São Paulo.
Oaklins Smith & Williamson, based in the UK, acted as corporate finance advisor to the seller in this transaction.
