Ickale Enerji has been acquired by Akenerji
March 2010 — Ickale Group has sold Ickale Enerji, its energy generation company, to Akenerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. (Akenerji), one of the leading energy companies in Turkey.
Based in Turkey, Ickale Enerji is the energy generation company of Ickale Group, holding the single license to build and operate the 165 MW Kemah hydroelectric power plant.
Akenerji is the first power generation company founded in Turkey and one of the country's biggest players in the power sector. It is an integrated power company operating in the wholesale energy trade in addition to power generation. Since 2005, Akenerji has concentrated on investments based on renewable power resources. It has a renewable power capacity of 388 MW through hydroelectric and wind plants. Akenerji’s total installed capacity is 1,224 MW.
Ickale Group started its operations as a general building construction company but progressed soon to be one of the leading civil construction companies in Turkey.
