Garden care product manufacturer Doff Portland has been acquired by Pelsis Group

Global pest control manufacturer and supplier Pelsis Group has added Doff Portland to its product portfolio. Doff Portland becomes a wholly owned subsidiary within the group.

Operating across the UK and Europe with 85 employees, Doff Portland and Portland Garden manufacture innovative, sustainable and reliable garden care products. Founded in 1946, Doff Portland has a long-standing reputation for technical and operational excellence, supporting continued growth in the UK, and underpins expansion across Europe through its EU division Portland Garden, which was established in 2019. Doff offers a collection of gardening products built around a core range certified for organic growing and sold in major retailers in the UK and Europe. These brands include Doff, Portland Garden, Power Up and Green Fingers.

Pelsis Group develops leading brands for commercial and retail customers, delivering innovative pest control and garden care products to a global customer base. The company employs more than 700 people across 15 sites in the UK, Europe, USA and India. Brands include B&G Equipment, Insect-O-Cutor, Network Bird.B.Gone, Edialux and Pest Stop.

Oaklins Cavendish, based in the UK, advised Doff Portland’s shareholders in this transaction supported by Oaklins’ horticulture expertise in the Netherlands. The acquisition provides an important balance to Pelsis’ portfolio through Doff’s well-known consumer brands and commitment to environmentally responsible products ahead of increasingly stringent global regulatory requirements.

Parties
“Well done and thank you to the entire Oaklins Cavendish team for their outstanding work on this transaction. From the outset, you presented a strong international team with the sector and functional expertise required to deliver. Oaklins Cavendish skilfully managed both the negotiations and the process, and were alongside us every step of the way. I personally felt very well advised throughout, the team did not rush any decision, but nor did we lose time. We are delighted with the successful sale to Pelsis and would highly recommend Oaklins Cavendish.”
