Centerbridge Partners has announced a minority interest investment in Pure Cremation
Centerbridge Partners, L.P. has announced a structured minority interest investment in Pure Cremation. The investment includes both loan and equity instruments and is subject to regulatory approval, with completion expected in the first half of 2026.
Centerbridge is a private investment management firm employing a flexible approach across private equity, private credit and real estate to develop attractive opportunities for its investors. Founded in 2005, the firm has approximately US$44 billion in assets under management as of 30 September 2025 and maintains offices in New York and London. Centerbridge partners with management teams across targeted industry sectors and geographies.
Pure is the UK’s largest provider of funeral plans, offering an alternative to traditional funerals at a cost approximately 70% lower, while providing families with greater flexibility. Its services include both at-need offerings and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)-regulated pre-need plans. The company operates from freehold-owned crematoria and has received more than 30,000 five-star reviews.
Epiris is a private equity firm focused on building businesses that deliver strong returns for investors. The firm invests in control positions in UK and international businesses with enterprise values between US$100 million and US$1 billion, typically deploying US$65 million to US$335 million of equity per transaction.
Oaklins Cavendish, one of Oaklins’ member firms in the UK, acted as co-advisor to Centerbridge in its structured minority interest investment in Pure. The team had previously advised Pure’s founding shareholders on the sale of the business to Epiris Fund III in 2023.
