Maarten is the founder and executive chairman of Oaklins Netherlands. He has acted as lead advisor on over 100 international transactions and, together with his team, he has completed over 400 transactions in the last 20 years. His key areas of expertise are in agritech, horticulture, tech-enabled services, SaaS software, healthtech, and testing and inspection businesses. Due to his own entrepreneurial career and network, Maarten has always gained huge satisfaction from working with company founders.

After starting his career at Fokker Aircraft and Kas Bank NV, Maarten became CEO of Physio Medical Systems B.V., a specialized respiratory and anesthesia equipment business. On completing a turnaround and international growth plan, he sold the company to German multinational Dräger A.G. Maarten then worked for PwC Corporate Finance as a senior M&A professional and subsequently founded Oaklins Netherlands over 20 years ago. Maarten is a former president and chairman of Oaklins International, a former board member of McKinsey’s New Venture business plan contest and a former university chair of the Entrepreneurs Organization’s “Change the World” conference. He is a regular speaker on M&A topics and a lecturer on the new CFO Executive Program at Erasmus University’s ESAA.
